Currency becomes required when any salary range data is present, and once benchmarking is enabled the schema requires currency, minimum salary, and maximum salary together. It also checks for logical pay ranges, such as minimum being less than maximum and the maximum not being absurdly wider than the minimum.

The current product supports two distinct ways to generate a benchmark. If the recruiter is still in a draft create-job flow and there is no job ID yet, Ovii builds a stateless preview request directly from the form. That payload includes the draft job title, company name, city, country, experience range, employment type, currency, job description, skills tags, company size, job level, and client domain.
If the recruiter is working with a saved job, the product calls a job-linked endpoint instead. That path can fetch an existing benchmark if one is already available or generate one if not. In other words, Ovii treats draft benchmarking and job benchmarking as related but not identical surfaces.
This split is a real product strength. Recruiters can get market context early, before the role is fully committed, but the system also supports job-scoped benchmark access once the role exists as a durable hiring object.

That means job creation can succeed even if benchmarking later fails. Compensation context is treated as a useful background enrichment step, not as something that should make the recruiter lose the whole job draft if an LLM call times out or a queue consumer has a bad day.
The queue consumer then validates the job, checks company ownership, decides whether generation should be skipped, and only then runs the benchmark service. That is a much healthier operating model than trying to squeeze benchmarking directly into the initial save request.

If benchmark JSON is already present and was generated within the last seven days, the consumer can skip regeneration.
The queue setup also includes a retry queue and dead-letter behavior, while the listener runs on a dedicated salary-benchmark executor. That does not make the benchmark infallible, but it does show the feature is being treated like a real pipeline rather than a novelty callout.
Operationally, this matters for trust. Recruiters are more likely to rely on a compensation feature when the product treats it as durable infrastructure instead of a one-shot experiment.

The prompt tells the engine not to guess a city or country and to treat the output as a location-agnostic market frame instead of a hyper-local quote.
Second, Ovii normalizes the target currency before generation and then runs a currency guard over the JSON after response extraction. That guard scrubs salary-related fields so foreign symbols or codes do not silently leak into the benchmark output.
Together, those rules make the benchmark more honest. Ovii is choosing directional strategic clarity over fake location precision, and it is adding post-processing to keep money formatting consistent with the recruiter's target currency.

The prompt contract is more opinionated than the UI first suggests. The engine is required to decide an employer category first and then set salary guidance that is consistent with that category. The categories themselves are spelled out in the prompt: TECH_GIANT, GCC_CAPTIVE, PRODUCT_COMPANY, SERVICE_COMPANY, DOMAIN_TECH, and ENTERPRISE_MNC, among others.
The response must also return a pay-positioning label and a peer-employer comparison array in an exact order: service company, product company, this employer, and tech giant. That structure is not decorative. It is what lets the recruiter interpret the role as a market posture rather than as a random salary estimate.
This is where the benchmark becomes strategically useful. It helps explain whether the role is priced like a services-market hire, a product-company hire, or something pushing toward top-of-market competition.

The prompt also explicitly asks for three narrative paragraphs after the JSON block: market context, key factors, and recruiter advice. That is a strong design choice because recruiters often need a usable explanation more than they need a naked midpoint.
