Supabase is hiring a Supalite Engineer to design, build, and harden the lightweight TypeScript implementation of Supabase that runs on SQLite and Postgres. The role offers full autonomy to own end‑to‑end developer experience, API compatibility, and migration pathways while collaborating with design partners and the open‑source community.

What You'll Likely Work On

• Expand API compatibility with the Supabase client and ensure behavior matches hosted Supabase
• Port additional Supabase stack components to SQLite
• Create a reliable upgrade path from Supabase Lite to full Supabase
• Design, implement, and maintain the CLI, local tooling, and developer documentation
• Build a scale‑to‑zero hosted offering that can be swapped without rewrites
• Partner with designers to resolve migration and integration friction
• Engage with the open‑source community and contribute back to the broader Supabase ecosystem

Good Fit If You Have

• Experience building or contributing to backend platforms or developer tools
• Comfort reading unfamiliar codebases in languages such as Go or Haskell
• Passion for developer experience, clean APIs, and fast feedback loops
• Track record of open‑source maintenance or CLI development
