Ovii's Interpretation of the Role

Tilt seeks a Staff Data Platform Engineer to own the architecture and self‑service patterns of its Databricks‑based data warehouse. The senior individual contributor will design scalable ingestion, governance and observability frameworks that empower analytics and data‑science teams across the company.

What You'll Likely Work On

  • Architect the end‑to‑end Databricks data warehouse, covering ingestion, storage, compute, orchestration, governance and monitoring.
  • Create reusable, secure self‑service frameworks for both batch and streaming data workloads.
  • Establish and enforce service‑level objectives, data lineage, and observability, leading incident triage and root‑cause fixes.
  • Design multi‑tenant guardrails with least‑privilege access, auditing, cost controls and privacy‑aware patterns.
  • Automate and harden data‑infrastructure pipelines using CI/CD and Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices.
  • Elevate the team’s technical bar through design reviews, code reviews and mentorship.
  • Deliver comprehensive documentation for every platform pattern to enable autonomous consumption.
