We are looking for a Software Engineer to build and operate Go‑based backend microservices that power authentication and authorization for Kong's Konnect platform. The role focuses on cloud‑native development on AWS and Kubernetes, with an emphasis on security, scalability, and reliability.

What You'll Likely Work On

• Develop and maintain Go‑based microservices that enforce authentication and authorization for Kong Konnect and the Developer Portal.
• Create scalable, API‑first services using REST and gRPC that integrate identity and access management capabilities across the product suite.
• Deploy, monitor, and manage services on AWS using Kubernetes for high availability and fault tolerance.
• Implement secure, performant code with comprehensive unit, integration, and end‑to‑end testing.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, security specialists, product managers, and other engineering teams to deliver feature enhancements.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture planning to shape the platform’s future.

Good Fit If You Have

• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, or SAML standards.
• Familiarity with role‑based access control (RBAC) and permission systems.
• Background in API gateway technologies or developer portal development.
• Exposure to infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
• Interest or experience in security engineering and zero‑trust architectures.
