Ovii's Interpretation of the Role
The Software Development Test Engineer II ensures product quality by creating and executing manual and automated tests for Tekion's automotive cloud platform. The role collaborates with engineers, product managers, and DevOps to improve test coverage, automate recurring scenarios, and mentor junior testers in a fast‑paced Agile environment.
Role Snapshot
- Design and maintain functional, regression, integration, and system test suites
- Develop automated scripts for critical product workflows
- Validate features across web, mobile, API, and platform layers
- Partner with developers to track and resolve defects
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and release readiness
Must-Have Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field
- 2–4 years of software testing, quality assurance, or software development experience
- Design and execution of manual and automated test cases
- Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript)
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps)
- Understanding of Agile methodologies

What You'll Likely Work On
- Create, execute, and maintain test cases for functional, regression, integration, and system testing
- Build and enhance automated test scripts for recurring scenarios and key workflows
- Analyze requirements, specs, and user stories to ensure comprehensive test coverage
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects while collaborating on root‑cause analysis
- Validate new features, bug fixes, and release candidates across web, mobile, API, and platform applications
- Engage in sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and release readiness discussions
- Work with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to refine test strategies and environments
- Maintain test documentation, data, and traceability between requirements and test coverage
- Support API, database, and end‑to‑end testing as needed
- Mentor junior test engineers and contribute to QA process improvements
