Ovii's Interpretation of the Role

LAT Aerospace seeks an RF Digital Signal Processing Engineer to own the radar DSP chain from raw samples to tracked targets. You will prototype on SDRs, translate algorithms to FPGA/embedded platforms, and iterate quickly against real‑world data.

Role Snapshot

  • End‑to‑end radar DSP ownership
  • Prototype on SDR hardware
  • Real‑time FPGA/SoC implementation
  • Beamforming and angle estimation
  • Target classification & tracking
  • Field data collection and validation

Must-Have Requirements

  • Radar signal processing
  • SDR experience (USRP/Ettus, BladeRF, PlutoSDR)
  • FMCW processing
  • CFAR detection & clutter suppression
  • Kalman filtering & track management
  • MATLAB/Python for algorithms
  • C/C++ for real‑time implementation
  • Hands‑on radar signal processing
  • Proven SDR experience

Nice-to-Have Signals

  • FPGA/SoC/DSP/GPU integration

Work Setup

  • Location: Bangalore, India
  • Work mode: ONSITE
  • Employment type: Full-Time

Not Specified in JD

  • Visa sponsorship
  • Salary range
  • Remote eligibility

What You'll Likely Work On

  • Own the full radar signal‑processing chain, including dechirp, Range‑Doppler, detection, angle estimation, and track formation.
  • Translate algorithms from SDR prototype to real‑time implementation on FPGA/embedded hardware.
  • Design detection pipelines for low‑RCS targets, implementing CFAR, clutter suppression, and false‑alarm management.
  • Develop beamforming, angle estimation, and channel calibration for multi‑channel receive arrays.
  • Build target classification (micro‑Doppler, drone/bird/clutter) and multi‑target tracking using Kalman filters and data association.
  • Plan and execute field data collection campaigns, iterating against real‑world clutter and ground‑truth data.

Good Fit If You Have

  • Enjoys hands‑on algorithm development with real sensor data.
  • Comfortable bridging software and hardware teams.
  • Eager to learn and iterate quickly on new signal‑processing challenges.
