Ovii's Interpretation of the Role

The Product Engineer I will configure enterprise‑grade servers, storage, and networking hardware, delivering end‑to‑end system builds from arrival through validation. You’ll create configuration plans, automate OS/hypervisor images, and work closely with program management, production, and customers to ensure high‑quality deliveries.

What You'll Likely Work On

  • Own the end‑to‑end configuration process for servers, storage, and networking platforms, from inspection to final sign‑off.
  • Develop and maintain detailed configuration plans, port maps, and IP/VLAN assignments for single systems and small clusters.
  • Perform power‑on, firmware/BIOS/UEFI updates, and validate hardware against project standards.
  • Install and configure Linux and Windows OS, hypervisors, and base software images per internal or customer specifications.
  • Create and maintain golden images, automation scripts, and checklists to enable repeatable, high‑quality builds.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, firmware, and software compatibility issues in coordination with customers and vendors.
  • Document as‑built configurations, inventories, and network plans in the appropriate system of record.
  • Collaborate with program management, production engineering, manufacturing, sales engineering, and customers to deliver successful projects.
