Ovii's Interpretation of the Role

Cartesia seeks a rising 3L law student for a paid, on‑site legal internship in San Francisco. The intern will assist the General Counsel on AI‑related contracts, regulatory research, privacy compliance, and IP matters while collaborating with product, engineering, and operations teams.

Role Snapshot

What You'll Likely Work On

  • Conduct first‑pass reviews of commercial contracts, NDAs, BAAs, and DPAs and provide concise summaries for attorney review
  • Research emerging AI regulations worldwide, including the EU AI Act and U.S. frameworks, and help draft internal governance policies
  • Assist with privacy compliance efforts across GDPR, CCPA, BIPA, and CUBI
  • Support IP workflow, including copyright, open‑source compliance, trademark, and patent filings
  • Partner with product, engineering, sales, and marketing to evaluate legal risks and translate analysis into actionable recommendations
