We need an Engineering Manager to lead a 6‑7‑person Android team building the checkout and payments experience for SpotOn's restaurant POS. The role blends people leadership, product partnership, and technical ownership of native Android, backend event‑driven services, and operational excellence.

What You'll Likely Work On

• Guide engineering execution for all checkout and payment flows, including card, cash, split, tips, discounts, refunds and offline scenarios
• Partner with product and design to shape customer‑centered checkout experiences
• Collaborate with the Payments team to integrate and evolve SpotOn's internal Payments SDK
• Steer technical decisions for native Android code and backend event‑driven services (Kafka)
• Improve key metrics such as checkout time, success rate, crash‑free sessions and payment accuracy
• Establish strong engineering practices for quality, testing, observability and production support
• Serve on incident‑commander rotation and lead response to checkout‑related incidents
• Mentor engineers, conduct performance reviews, and foster an inclusive distributed team culture

Good Fit If You Have

• Experience in POS, payments or fintech transaction systems
• Familiarity with card‑present payments, EMV, PCI or offline payment handling
