Ovii's Interpretation of the Role

The Embedded Software & Controls Engineer will design and implement control algorithms, low‑latency firmware, and driver stacks that enable precise, reliable robot operation. You’ll work hands‑on with SBCs, motor interfaces, and ROS2 to deliver real‑time performance on autonomous construction robots.

What You'll Likely Work On

  • Define and evolve the control system architecture for mobile‑manipulator robots
  • Create and tune low‑latency, real‑time control loops for navigation, motion, and teleoperation
  • Develop drivers and software interfaces for CAN/EtherCAT actuators, servo and stepper motors
  • Write and maintain low‑level firmware, Linux kernel drivers, and embedded Linux components
  • Implement and debug communication stacks (I2C, UART, SPI, CAN, Ethernet) across subsystems
  • Integrate hardware with ROS2, contributing ROS2 drivers and middleware
  • Prototype, simulate, and test control algorithms on physical robot platforms
  • Support OTA update pipelines and build monitoring/logging infrastructure for system health
