Ovii's Interpretation of the Role

We are looking for an Android Architect to shape Meesho’s Android platform roadmap, drive cross‑team architectural decisions, and mentor a growing engineering team. You will own performance, modularization, and AI‑assisted development tooling while delivering high‑impact features for a massive e‑commerce audience.

Must-Have Requirements

• Jetpack Compose
• Jetpack libraries (Hilt, Room, DataStore, WorkManager, Navigation, Paging)
• MVI / Clean Architecture
• Android performance tooling (Macrobenchmark, Baseline Profiles, App Startup, R8)
• Retrofit / OkHttp networking
• Moshi or kotlinx.serialization
• Coroutines & structured concurrency
• Modularization & Gradle optimization (KSP, configuration cache, build cache)
• AI‑assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex)
• Git & code review
• Android development

What You'll Likely Work On

• Define and evolve the long‑term Android architecture strategy, including modularization and legacy migration
• Lead architectural reviews, deep‑dive design sessions, and refactoring of high‑impact components
• Set engineering standards for code quality, testing strategy, and release readiness
• Own end‑to‑end app performance—startup time, jank, memory, ANRs, and battery usage
• Champion AI‑assisted developer workflows and measure productivity impact
• Identify and drive 2–3 strategic projects per year from problem framing to rollout
• Build internal SDKs, design‑system components, and platform libraries for other Android engineers
• Recruit, mentor, and grow Android engineers; partner on hiring loops and career development
• Represent Android in cross‑functional planning and shape the broader mobile roadmap
