Ovii's Interpretation of the Role

The Flight R&D Engineer will analyze flight data, investigate anomalies, and improve safety and performance of Airbound's novel UAV platform. This hands‑on role blends aerospace fundamentals with software tooling to turn raw logs and hardware inspections into actionable insights.

What You'll Likely Work On

  • Own the post‑flight analysis pipeline: parse, visualise and interpret UAV logs, flag anomalies and produce structured root‑cause reports.
  • Conduct systematic post‑incident inspections of airframe, propulsion and avionics, maintaining checklists and contributing to airworthiness standards.
  • Assist in defining, reviewing and validating failsafe logic for loss of stability, communication loss, sensor degradation, battery faults and actuator failures.
  • Support integration of new sensors and peripherals, including bench characterisation, ground testing and in‑flight data quality evaluation.
  • Collaborate with software and systems teams to translate risk assessments into concrete parameter recommendations and safety specifications.
